Jennifer Lynn Johnson, Principal

Jennifer L Johnson LLC. is a full-service interior design firm serving the mid-Atlantic from the District of Columbia area studio. JLJ designs spaces which are comfortable, functional, authentic, and most importantly, personal. Residential and commercial projects include hotel renovations, preservation of historical buildings, single family homes, townhomes, lofts, condominiums and historic row homes. “Investing time to appreciate a client’s vision early in the engagement is invaluable and serves as a guide through the entire design experience” says owner and principal designer, Jennifer Johnson.

Johnson holds a Master’s in Interior Design from Marymount University and serves on the board for the Washington Metro Chapter for the American Society of Interior Designers-ASID. Residing in DC for over 15 years, Johnson maintains a collaborative group of professionals ranging from general contractors, architects, and suppliers to ensure a timely, effective, and quality process.

Jennifer Johnson offers a variety of design services, with a focus on residential and commercial spaces. Johnson invests and values time to understand and appreciate each client’s style and comfort to seamlessly achieve functionality with an emotionally connected design.

Why

Loving the palette, not just colors but food; Johnson intentionally gravitates towards dining and gathering spaces specializing in all things “culinary and entertaining”. People spend most of their time in their kitchen and the space should always feel holistic. Gathering areas, whether around a kitchen table or in an opulent hotel lobby, present endless opportunities for signature details to seamlessly connect to the brand, even a personal brand. Once the appropriate sizing and placement of furnishings are accomplished, which is no easy task, the details are what set apart a room to create an experience.
