Hiring an interior designer before an architect can be important for several reasons. Interior designers focus on functionality and creating aesthetically pleasing spaces within a building or home.  A designer considers the clients' lifestyle and personal style preferences, which can help with determining the scope of the project, the selection of materials, finishes and lighting, and the seamless integration of different design elements. They can also provide input on space planning based on furniture layout. Involving a designer early in the design process to collaboratively work with an architect can guarantee that the clients' overall vision is cohesive and that the space meets the clients' needs.  This can also avoid any design changes later, which can potentially save time and money. 

For our Lake Barcroft project, our clients wanted to make their entire top level more functional. We took their existing space and customized it to fit their lifestyle and growing family. By doing so we worked with local architect, Karen Becker, and added an ensuite bathroom to the master and enlarged storage space throughout the top level.  We were involved in all construction communications from the beginning, which resulted in a "new" space that was reflective of their unique style, met their practical needs, and kept the project on schedule.
