Kitchen expansion and finished basement for active empty nesters who love to entertain, host poker night, and have frequent jam sessions.
BALANCING FUNCTION AND AESTETICS
With this project we achieved both. In the kitchen we were tasked to increase the pantry, add appliance storage, and improve the countertop space. All new appliances, custom cabinetry for spices, cooking utensils, vertical storage, pullout drawers, working pantry and oversized island. We tripled the size of the pantry, added lighting and the microwave to allow for more countertop space. A beverage station with wine refrigerator, bar sink, and an appliance garage to hide the coffee maker were added on a previously blank wall. Additional overhead zone lighting and undercabinet outlets with lights for a beautiful aesthetic and clean backsplash. The space would not be complete without an upgrade to a bay window over the sink with touchless faucet and disposal countertop plug.
We designed the basement based on the client's needs. The objective was to create zones for entertaining, exercise, a drum room, full bathroom, and provide storage. We started with partially removing the stair wall to open up the space to make for an inviting sense of arrival. Overhead zone-controlled color changeable, dimmable LED lighting and wall mounted TVs added in the exercise and entertainment areas. Cool calming colors combined with fun modern finishes will make for many jam sessions and late-night poker games.
