The project included the redesign of the master closet and ensuite bathroom, and update of the first-floor powder room in this modern DC townhouse built in 1925.
Our clients had a clear vision of recreating the look of a high-end retail store, which challenged us to seek creative solutions. For the closet, our team transformed the existing storage space into an open loft concept for display. We established a lighting plan and opened up the attic space to improve both functionality and visual appeal. For access, we designed a custom metal ladder, which also helped connect the redesigned space with the contemporary style of the rest of the home.
We converted the master bathroom into an ensuite wet room with a large walk-in shower, drawing inspiration from luxury hotels to evoke elegance, wellness and relaxation. We removed the existing tub and reconfigured the layout to maximize the available space. To enhance the bathroom's high-end features, we installed radiant heated floors, a heated towel bar, an LED illuminated niche, and water temperature control nozzles on the opposite side of the shower. With sustainability as a priority in the redesign, we were able to repurpose the clients' existing vanity, toilet, and mirror.
