We successfully completed a comprehensive master bedroom and bathroom refresh of this Northeast DC home by prioritizing sustainability and aesthetic cohesion.
Our client aimed for a refreshing update to their master bedroom and bathroom, seeking a functional and cohesive flow between the two spaces while adding a touch of glam.
To meet our goals, we focused on recovering and repurposing existing furniture in the bedroom. We reupholstered the client's bench, headboard, and ottoman, and opted to swap out lampshades instead of replacing entire lighting fixtures. In the bathroom, we replaced the existing mirror and vanity lighting, and introduced a new, flush, and modern lighted medicine cabinet equipped with outlets, effectively decluttering and organizing our clients' vanity space. We also added a bidet, for additional health benefits, less water usage, and a reduction in toilet paper waste.

Design Strategy
Our strategy centered on creating a seamless flow between the bathroom and bedroom, resulting in one cohesive space. We selected performance, pet-friendly fabric that complemented our client's existing accent wallcovering and introduced pops of gold, warm tones, metallics, and pewter throughout. Additionally, we installed hooks to improve the storage system in the closet, organized the space, and replaced the shag rug with carpet tiles from Flor. Flor utilizes sustainable, pet- and child-friendly materials that are easy to install. By doing this, we adhered to the client's preference for a refreshing color palette, added warmth and touches of glam, and tied together elements, creating a harmonious and inviting ambiance.
